Ethel Bams, English composer, violinist and pianist, studied at the Royal Academy of Music. Her Second Violin Sonata was performed by Joseph Joachim in 1903, Aria is from Eight Pieces for Violin and Piano (Book 2. No. 3).

Gena Branscombe, American composer and conductor, studied at the Chicago Musical College and later for one year in Germany which included one year with Engelbert Humperdinck. She was conductor of the Branscombe Chorale (1933-54). Her compositions are mainly vocal. The Morning Wind was published in 1913 and is public domain in the United States.
