Three (3) Miniature Concert Pieces for Double Bass and Piano. Mussorgsky: Chanson Russe; Perrin: Gavotte; Sitt: Serenade. Compiled & Edited by Lucas Drew.

From the Publisher

German cellist Alwin Schroeder (1855-1920) was invited in 1885 by Franz Kneisel to join the famed Kneisel String Quartet. Later Schroeder became first cellist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and a member of the faculty of the New York Institute of Musical Art. Jeffrey Solow included Schroeder in his article of brief biographies of editors of cello music (i.e. A Who’s Who for CellistsStrings - Nov./Dec. 2001, No. 98).

These three works were selected from Volumes I and II of Concert Pieces for Cello and Piano compiled and edited by Alwin Schroeder in the early 20th century. It is hoped that they will be helpful to cellists and bassists as they practice the tenor clef.
