he German composer Georg Phillip Telemann (1681-1767) was one of the most prolific
composers of all time. Telemann's compositions are in all forms and styles - sacred and secular vocal music, chamber, and orchestral music, etc.
The Two Fantasias are transcribed from the Twelve Fantasias for Solo Flute (1732-33), Numbers 11 and 12. The contrasting sections (or movements) make each Fantasia similar to a short sonata.
