Schumann (Clara) Romance No. 3 (from Three Romances, Op. 22) for Double Bass and Piano (Orchestra Tuning). Edited by Lucas Drew. [Women Composers Series].
From the Publisher
Clara Wieck Schumann gave her first piano concert at the age of eleven at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. She was a pupil of her father Friedrich Wieck (1788-1873) who was also the piano teacher of Robert Schumann (1810-56). Clara Wieck and Robert Schumann were married in 1840.
Throughout her life Clara Schumann concertized throughout Europe. She was head of the piano department at Hoch Conservatory, Frankfurt-am-Main, 1879-92. Also, she edited Robert Schumanns early letters and complete works.
The piano part of Romance No.3 is a brilliant example of the musicality of Clara Schumann.
