Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) composed many sonatas for violin and piano bu none for cello and piano. Ukranian-bom cellist, Gregor Piatigorsky (1903-1976) wrote many transcriptions for the cello repertoire. This Sonatina, of intermediate technical difficulty, is among them. From 1962 to his death, he was professor at the University of Southern California.
