Hindemith Capriccio for Double Bass & Piano

The Capriccio is the first movement of Hindemiths Three Pieces for Cello and Piano, Opus 8 (1917). The multi-dimensional Hindemith (1895-1963) was a composer, theorist, teacher, violist, and conductor. He came to the United States in 1940 and became an American citizen in 1946. For many years he was a faculty member at Yale University. Hindemiths Sonata for Double Bass and Piano (1949) is a major composition in the double bass repertoire.
