Haydn Adagio from the Cello Concerto in D Major, Double Bass & Piano (Solo Tuning).
From the Publisher
The Adagio is the second movement of the Concerto No. 2 in D Major for Cello and Orchestra of Franz Joseph Haydn (1732-1809). The Concerto was composed in 1783 and was once thought to have been composed by Anton Kraft, a cellist of the Esterhazy Orchestra and pupil ofHaydn. The Concerto was first published during Haydn's lifetime by Andre Offenbach. This movement is most characteristic of the general style of the times and in particular, the style of the second movement of the Concerto in E Major of Karl ditters von Dittersdorf(1739-1799).
Meanwhile, double bassists are waiting for any new light to be shed on Haydn's 'lost' Concerto for Double Bass!
