Glazunov Chant du Menestral for Double Bass & Piano

Alexander Glazunov (1865-1936), Russian nationalist and romanticist, was a pupil of Rimsky Korsakof. In 1900 Glazunov was appointed as Professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. The Chant du Minestrel (Minstrel's Song), Opus 71, for Cello and Orchestra was composed in 1901.

In 1906 Glazunov became the Director of the Conservatory at St. Petersburg and held that position until the Russian Revolution. Glazunov was awarded a Mus. D. by both Cambridge and Oxford Universities in June 1907.
