21 Lessons for Beginning and Intermediate String Orchestra

21 Lessons, dedicated to the teachers of the American String Teachers Association, is a collection of short pieces for beginners and intermediates. Each work has a purpose and offers an opportunity to stress musicianship and the principles of string pedagogy. The student reads from a photocopy of the score. Circle or underline the part of each instrument, (ie. (yiolin)or violin, etc.) Also, they may be used in string technique classes at the collegiate level.

I express my appreciation to Caren Umbarger, former Music Director of Flagler Youth Orchestra, Palm Coast, FL and Heidi McKee, Orchestra Director, Middle and High School (Grades 6-12) Walhalla, SC for their encouragement to compose these works for their ensembles as well as Janet Clippard, Associate Editor, St. Francis Music Publications for her assistance.
